Woman raped, pushed into well in Bagepalli

A woman in her twenties was allegedly raped and later pushed into the well by her lover in a village in Bagepalli of Chickballapura district.

The victim, who was found by shepherds two days later in an unconscious state, was rescued and rushed to Bagepalli taluk hospital where she is being treated.

The victim in her statement to the doctor said that she had an affair with a man from Puttaparthi for over one year.

When the victim asked the man identified as Adappa to marry her, the latter reportedly asked her to get some money and a Thali, promising to tie the knot.

The accused took her to an isolated place where he raped her and later pushed her in the well before fleeing with the valuables.

Based on her statement, the Bagepalli town police have booked a case against Adappa, on charges of rape and attempt to murder. The police are on a lookout for him.
