A 50-year-old woman was killed on the spot after a garbage truck belonging to Bruhat Bengalore mahanagar Palike ran over her on 4th Cross, Malleshwaram on Friday.
The deceased Geetha Rani (50), a second-division assistant in Commercial Tax Department, was riding pillion on a scooter with her husband on her way to her relative’s house.
A truck behind them ran over her when she accidently slipped from the two-wheeler. Meanwhile the truck following the scooter ran over her, The truck driver abandoned the vehicle and escaped soon after the accident. The Malleshwaram traffic police have taken up a case and are on the lookout for the driver.
