A 22-year-old street vendor who was waiting for transport to return home after work, was abducted and gang-raped by three men, including the son of a Bangalore Milk Union Ltd. (Bamul) office-bearer, on the outskirts of the city on Wednesday.
Arun Kumar Gowda (24), who owns a cement outlet in Taverekere, offered to drop the woman home in his car from Majestic area but took her to his friend’s farmhouse in Tippagondahalli, where he and two of his associates raped her, the police said.
Arun, the main accused, is the son of Narasimhamurthy, a Bamul office-bearer.

The woman, who was locked in a room in the farmhouse without clothes, managed to escape around 6 a.m. on Thursday when the accused were asleep after consuming alcohol. She was found by a cab driver, who took her to the Taverekere police station.
Based on her complaint, the police arrested the trio from the farmhouse. The other two accused have been identified as Kempa Narasimha (36), an employee in a sawmill on Magadi Road, and Mahadeva (40), the caretaker of the farmhouse, owned by Muniraju.
The woman in her complaint said Arun had tortured her after she was raped. She said her cries for help were of no use as the farmhouse was situated in an isolated place.

The police have also seized Arun’s car. The woman, who hails from Bihar, sells clothes on the pavement in Majestic.
