With no photocopies yet, students plan to take supplementary exam

May 26, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:58 am IST - BENGALURU:

The dust may have settled as far as the ruckus surrounding the II Pre-University (PU) results are concerned, but students continue to be a confused lot.

With the last date to apply for photocopies of answer scripts ending on Monday and some students not yet having received the photocopies, they are contemplating applying for the supplementary exam.

The last date for applying is May 27 and the exam will be held from June 25 to July 4. Those who have failed in certain subjects are applying for the exam anyway, considering that the Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE) is accepting applications for re-evaluation and re-totalling till May 30.

“As the results of the re-evaluation are late and as I’m yet to get the photocopies of my answer sheets, I applied for the supplementary exam by paying at my college, as the last date to apply is Wednesday,” said one student.

Several of those applying for the supplementary exam are those who are confident of goof-ups in the evaluation.

“I got an overall percentage of 72, but I have failed with a single digit mark (8) in physics. I was expecting 60 marks out of 70. So I have applied for photocopies and re-evaluation for physics and mathematics. I was told by the Board that I would get the photocopies in two to three days, but I have not got them even after seven days. I never thought I might have to apply for supplementary exam after all the efforts I put in,” said another student.

Ravish K., a parent, complained that they were being forced to shell out money for photocopies, re-evaluation and supplementary exam due to the overlap of application dates.

Meanwhile, the PU Department said 6,404 photocopies had been dispatched through speed post, while 20,837 applications for photocopies of 41,035 scripts, 7,550 applications requesting re-evaluation of 12,272 scripts, and 288 applications seeking re-totalling of 507 scripts have been received.
