This Friday is special for Kannada film-goers, as five films are hitting the screens. The maximum number of films released in a week till September 4 this year is four and the release of five films in a day is being seen as a rare event.

According film industry sources, another 20 films are ready for release in the next 40 days and finding theatres has become a big problem for distributors. Among them are Airavata starring Darshan and Love You Alia starring Ravichandran.

141(I LoveYou) stands apart among them since it deals with the unusual subject of lesbian love. This film stars Russian girl Tanya, Farooq, Gayathri, Jagadish Babu and Kavya. The film was cleared by the revising committee of the Central Board of Film Certification with a few cuts.

Namak Haram should not be confused with the 1973 Hindi blockbuster starring Rajesh Khanna and Amithab Bhacchan. The Kannada film will see the debut of actor Ganesh’s brother Krishna Mahesh and radio jockey ‘Rapid’ Rashmi.
