Two killed in separate accidents

A call centre employee was killed when a speeding concrete mixer lorry rammed into her bike from behind at Iblur Junction, at the Outer Ring Road-Sarjapura Road Junction, on Sunday night.

The deceased was identified as Sharanya (24), a resident of Vishveshwara Puram. The impact of the collision was so huge that Sharanya sustained severe crush injuries and a major head injury. Though she was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital, she succumbed to injuries later in the day.

HSR Layout Traffic police have registered a case and arrested the driver of the lorry for causing death due to negligence.

Pedestrian mowed down

An unidentified pedestrian in his late 40s was mowed down by a speeding cab at Allalasandra Circle in Yelahanka on Sunday night. He was trying to cross the road when the cab, going to Kempegowda International Airport, knocked him down. Though he was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital, he was declared brought dead. Yelahanka traffic police have arrested the cab driver.
