Two persons have been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting three girls, all minors, who were employed as domestic help in their house in Ashoknagar police limits.
The three girls, aged 13, 14 and 15 respectively, allegedly ran away from their employers’ house in Austin Town and were rescued three days ago from the city railway station as they were trying to leave the city. Members of an NGO, who found the girls, took them to the Child Welfare Committee.
A CWC member said the three minors were working as help in the house. When the girls were questioned, they revealed that they had been sexually assaulted by the employers. The accused have been identified as Azizullah Khan (50) and his son-in-law Sadiq Ahmed (30), who were running a private business in the city.

“Once the girls were taken to the shelter, they gave a statement that they had been sexually assaulted by the employers. Based on this, a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was booked and the two men were arrested on Sunday,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Sandeep Patil.
It is not yet clear for how long they have been working as help or when the alleged assault took place.
The girls are from Bellary. Azizullah’s wife, who also hails from Bellary, was living in the same area where the girls lived and had brought them to the city for work. The employers had hired them four months ago, the police said.

Azizullah has been booked under the Child Labour Act.
