Two arrested on rape charge

The Banaswadi police on Tuesday arrested two men — identified as Bhaskar and Kishore — in connection with the January 31 gang rape of a 19-year-old-girl under the Lingarajapuram flyover. The girl had told the police in her statement that three men were involved in the crime.

Police sources said that Bhaskar and Kishore were identified on the basis of descriptions provided by the victim. Search is on for the other accused in the case.

Run over

A four-year-old boy was killed on the spot when he was run over by a school-bus in Virupakshapura on Tuesday evening.

The deceased, Jagadev, was returning from a shop with his father and was running towards the other end of the road as they were crossing, when he came under the rear wheel of the bus. The boy was rushed to a nearby hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.
