Traffic restrictions for presidential visit

Vehicular traffic will be restricted on several roads here for three days from Friday in connection with President Prathiba Patil's visit.

The Bangalore city police, in a press release here Thursday, said parking had been banned on several roads on which the presidential convoy will move during these days.

Friday

Traffic restrictions, according to the release, will be in force between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Friday on HAL Airport Road, Manipal Hospital junction, Indiranagar 100-ft Road junction, Domlur Road, C.B. Road junction, ASC Centre, Trinity Church Road, Mahatma Gandhi Road, Webb's junction, Manipal Centre junction, Cubbon Road, Kamaraj Road junction, BRV junction, Anil Kumble Circle, Queen's Road, CTO Circle and Raj Bhavan Road.

Saturday

Traffic will be restricted between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday on Raj Bhavan Road, L.H. Road, Palace Road, T. Chowdiah Road, Le Meridian junction, Windsor Manor junction, Palace Cross, Cauvery talkies junction, Ramana Maharshi Road, Mehkri Circle, Bellary Road up to GKVK, Basaveshwara Circle, CID junction, Maharani College Circle underpass and Jnanajyothi Auditorium, AG's Office junction, LRDE Junction, Ali Askar Road, and on some other junctions and stretches for the VVIP visit.

Sunday

Similarly, on Sunday, traffic will be restricted from 10.30 a.m. and 1 p.m. (during her visit) on Raj Bhavan Road, L.H. Road, Basaveshwara Circle, AG's Office junction, Vidhana Soudha West Gate, Vidhana Soudha, Ambedkar Road, CTO Circle, Queen's Road, Anil Kumble Circle, BRV junction, Kamaraj Road junction, Cubbon Road, Manipal Centre junction, Webbs junction, Mahatma Gandhi Road, Trinity Church Circle, ASC Centre, C.B. Road junction, Domlur, Indiranagar 100-ft Road junction and HAL Airport Road.

Parking banned

Parking has been banned on these roads to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and to avoid traffic snarls during the VVIP visit.

All efforts will be made to minimise restrictions on the movement of general traffic while the presidential convoy passes, the release pointed out.

The traffic police requested the public to cooperate with the traffic arrangements.
