A toddler was killed on the spot when he was run over by a reversing sports utility vehicle (SUV) at Jai Hanuman Nagar in Arakere in the city on Wednesday.
One-year-old Yuvaraj was playing outside the hovel his labourer parents lived in. The adults were having breakfast at the time, not realising that their second child had wandered off to the footpath, coming directly under a reversing SUV.
The Hulimavu traffic police arrested the driver and seized the vehicle.
