Three killed in separate road accidents

Two students from Meghalaya were killed on the spot when they lost control over the motorcycle they were riding in Yelahanka on Saturday. The deceased Bestial Dakar (20) and Lamphrang Langshai (23); were B.Com. students residing in a paying guest facility in Hennur. Passers-by rushed the duo to a nearby hospital, where Dakar was declared brought dead. Langshai succumbed to injuries later. The Yelahanka traffic police are investigating.

Biker killed

A 60-year-old moped rider was killed on the spot when a truck knocked him down near ISCKON temple on saturday. The deceased, Vaidyanath Jaswal, a resident of R.T. Nagar, was returning home after getting counselling at Narayan Netralaya in Rajaji Nagar. Traffic was disrupted for some time.

Bookie arrested

CCB sleuths on Friday raided a house in Kumbalgodu and arrested a bookie operating a cricket betting racket. The police have recovered Rs. 90,000 and four mobile phones from the accused, Vijay Kumar, a resident of Nagadevanahalli. He was allegedly collecting bet amounts for Mysuru-based bookie Ramesh.
