This won’t affect trust’s plans

The High Court’s ruling will have no effect on Dr. Vishnuvardhan Memorial Trust’s plans.

Frustrated with the legal hurdles faced in the last six years over the land sanctioned at Abhiman Studio and Mylasandra, the late actor’s wife Bharati Vishnuvardhan had planned to shift the memorial to his native Mysuru.

However, with the Bengaluru district administration all set to reclaim 10 acres of land allotted to Abhiman Studio for violating conditions of the grant, the trust can develop the memorial on the two-acre land where Vishnuvardhan was cremated.

The Hindu , B.R. Dayanand, tahsildar, Bengaluru South, said once the government reclaims the 10 acres, there would be no legal hurdles in allocating the land sanctioned to Vishnuvardhan Memorial earlier.

Deputy Commissioner V. Shankar has issued notice to family members of Balakrishna for violating conditions of the grant. The land will be taken back immediately after government passes an order and there will be no hurdle in reallocating the land for Vishnuvardhan Memorial
