Tabla maestro to lead music treat

Music lovers are in for a treat unlike any other as maverick tabla maestro Zakir Hussain comes to town to perform in a concert of epic proportions.

The world renowned maestro will perform in Chowdaiah Memorial Hall on December 2 from 7.30 p.m. onwards.

He will be joined by six musicians in the Masters of Percussion concert. They are sitar player Niladri Kumar, kanjira player Selva Ganesh, American drummer Steve Smith, sarangi player Dilshad Khan, dhol player Deepak Bhat and dholki player Vijay Chavan.

The handpicked ensemble and the magical Zakir Hussain promise to take music lovers on a rhythm trip exploring the nuances of different beats across a wide array of genres.
