Student had been reprimanded by the principal

The Yelahanka police have registered a case against the management of a reputed school where a 9th standard student attempted suicide in February this year after being reprimanded by the principal for creating nuisance. The student jumped from the second floor of the school building and was admitted to a private hospital with multiple fractures.

The boys parents approached the police seeking action against the school management, but the police turned them away.

The parents moved court and filed a private complaint. The court directed the police to file an FIR.

“We have taken up a case based on a direction from a court and will investigate the complaint,” a senior police officer said. He refused to explain why the police turned away the complainant earlier.
