Student in Bangalore ends life over exam pressure

March 24, 2013 10:45 am | Updated 10:45 am IST - Bangalore:

Unable to cope with the exam pressure, a II pre-university student hanged herself at her home in Kaverinagar on Saturday.

The Mahadevapura police said Jamuna Rani (18), student of Jain College in Indiranagar, was depressed that she did not do well in two papers and had discussed it with her parents.

She had prepared for Saturday’s accountancy exam the day before but ended her life. Her father, Muniraju, a civil contractor, was away from Bangalore; her mother, Jayanthi, a garment unit employee, was at work; and her brother had left to answer his exam.
