November 13, 2014 12:51 pm | Updated 12:51 pm IST - Bengaluru:

The class 10 Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations will begin on March 30, 2015, with the first language as the first examination. For the first time this year, students will take the examination in the new Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) pattern and the year-end examination will have 80 per cent weightage on the total assessment, with the remaining on the internal assessment.

The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board has announced that the exams will be conducted from March 30 to April 13. While the first language will be conducted for 100 marks, the remaining papers will be conducted for 80 marks. The duration of each exam has been reduced as the total marks of each paper have been reduced.

According to a press release by the board, the first language paper will be followed by the Science paper on April 1. The examination will end with the Social Science exam on April 13. A press release issued by H. Manjunath, Secretary of the board, stated that students will be given 15 minutes to read the question paper before the examination begins.
