Members of the State unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah owning responsibility for the “poor performance” of his party in the Lok Sabha elections.
While the former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar sought Siddaramaiah’s resignation, the former Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda suggested that Mr. Siddaramaiah should consider quitting.
In a release, Mr. Shettar accused Mr. Siddaramaiah of pushing the State to a pathetic situation by making only false assurances.

Mr. Sadananda Gowda told presspersons that the BJP dispensation at the Centre, especially those elected from the State, would cooperate with the State government on development issues and also in the implementation of Kannada as a medium of instruction.
