Sexual assault case: Child Rights Commission chief meets victim

Chairperson of the Child Rights Commission, Krupa Alva visited the three-year-old victim and her mother at Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital on Wednesday. She assured the family that the Commission would play a role in ensuring speedy justice to the child.

Meanwhile, some members of the North-East Association in Bengaluru got in touch with officials of Ministry of Home Affairs to ensure that the State government does not take the matter lightly. “We feel that the case is not being dealt with seriously and want the Ministry to intervene,” a member said.

The three-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by the watchman of a school in Indiranagar in the school premises on Monday. The incident came to light on Monday when the child complained to her mother of pain in her private parts. The watchman was arrested on Tuesday.
