Security tightened in Goa

Following Sunday’s blast in Bangaluru, Goa Police have tightened security around various establishments and tourist events.

Inspector General of Police Sunil Garg said they security has been beefed up for the two on-going electronic dance music events in north coastal belt and the decennial Exposition of Sacred relics of St. Xaviers.

Training for Goa police

The Indian Medical Association(IMA), Goa Branch in association with Manipal Hospital will accord basic life support training to entire Goa police soon.

Dr. Shekhar Salkar, president IMA, Goa branch, who also represents Manipal Hospitals, Goa told presspersons in the presence of Goa Inspector General of Police Sunil Garg and other senior police officials that so far they have trained around 400 police personnel from traffic and PCR Vans.

This training, Mr. Garg said, is crucial for police who reach any scene of emergency.

This would be Manipal Hospital’s corporate social responsibility, through which the entire police force of 6,000 will be trained in the basic life support training.

He said that Manipal Hospital has already undertaken such an initiative in Bangaluru for the cops there.
