Realtor killed in accident

A 32-year-old realtor was killed on the spot after a speeding tempo traveller rammed into his motorcycle in Vijaynagar Traffic Police limits in the wee hours of Wednesday.

Vijayanagar traffic police identified the deceased as Raghvendra, a resident of Manjunath Nagar. Raghvendra was living with his family and was into real-estate business.

According to the traffic police, Raghvendra was heading home at around 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday night when the accident took place.

Upon reaching KEB office on West of Chord Road near power house, Raghvendra, who was on his two-wheeler, was hit by a speeding tempo traveller from behind. The tempo was attached to private IT firm and the driver was returning to Vijaynagar after dropping the employees at the IT firm.

Due to the impact of the collision, Raghavendra was tossed up in the air and crashed to the ground, sustaining severe head injuries. He died on the spot while the accused driver managed to flee from the spot.

Passersby, who noticed Raghvendra lying in a pool of blood, rushed him to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead. Meanwhile, the traffic cops on night duty who were alerted rushed to the spot and seized the vehicle.

A case of negligent driving was registered against the driver and the company in Vijayanagar traffic police station.
