Poll booth shifted: residents threaten to boycott BBMP polls

August 08, 2015 04:11 pm | Updated March 29, 2016 02:01 pm IST - Bengaluru:

Members of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday filed a complaint with the State Election Commission against the returning officer for changing the polling booth of a village, causing inconvenience to voters.

BJP spokesperson Suresh Kumar said the polling booth of Srinivasapura village in Yelahanka ward has been shifted to Jakkur ward and as a result, voters had to walk for 5 km to cast their votes.

Following the development, there is a growing resentment among residents who are threatening to boycott the BBMP polls, he said.
