Pedestrian killed in accident

A 22-year old pedestrian was killed and another was injured when a goods carrier ran over them at K.P. Agrahara in Magadi Road traffic police limits on Sunday afternoon. The accident occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle and it and rolled down a slope. Two motorcycles were damaged in the accident. The victim, Shivkumar, a resident of Kengeri, was an employee of a garment shop.

The goods vehicle had unloaded gunny bags at a shop and when it did not start, the driver requested some people to push the vehicle. The vehicle picked up speed after being pushed and rolled down the slope running over the pedestrians, police said.

The other pedestrian, who is yet to be identified, has been admitted to Victoria Hospital. His condition is said to be stable. The police have arrested the driver and seized the vehicle.

Stabbed

Three persons allegedly stabbed a 38-year-old rag-picker in Madivala on Sunday. The victim, Narayana, had been separated from his family about three years ago and had taken shelter in a church. He had also lived previously in Handi Jogi Colony in the same area.

On Sunday, the accused Kulla alias Kiran, Raja and Hanumantha, who were in an inebriated state, allegedly demanded Rs.100 from Narayana. When he refused, they allegedly stabbed Narayana, who walked up to the Koramangala bus-stand, where passers-by noticed his state and alerted the police. He was rushed to Victoria hospital for treatment.

In another incident, two persons were allegedly stabbed by unidentified miscreants in Koramangala 8th Block on Sunday. The victims have been identified as Anandraj and Nanda, residents of Audugodi and N.R. Colony.

Suicide

A 31-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in his room at a paying guest accommodation in Indiranagar First Stage on Saturday night.

The police said Jeetu was reportedly depressed as he was unemployed.
