Mohammed Saleem, owner of the multi-storeyed building in Someshwara Nagar, a portion of which collapsed about two weeks ago, killing three persons, has managed to secure anticipatory bail from a Fast Track Court in the city.

The police said Saleem, who was on the run ever since the building collapsed on August 20, surrendered before the court two days ago, and secured anticipatory bail.

“It was a conditional bail in which he has been directed to cooperate with the investigations and appear before the investigating officer every fortnight, till the completion of the investigations”, an official of the Siddapura police station said.

Mr. Saleem has also been directed by the court not to leave the city without the permission of the police. The court has also directed the police to impound his passport.

“We are going to summon Saleem for a detailed questioning about the violations,” the official said.
