May 25, 2014 11:39 pm | Updated 11:39 pm IST - BANGALORE:

Freedom fighter H.S. Doreswamy on Sunday took objection to the participation of religious heads and politicians in anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare’s new campaign, Asli Azadi Abhiyan.

Mr. Doreswamy expressed himself against the participation of Pejawar Seer Vishvesha Tirtha Swamiji and the former Union Minister C.K. Jaffer Sharief, who took part in the consultative meeting of Asli Azadi Abhiyan at Gandhi Bhavan here.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Doreswamy said that elections had become a farce and true democracy could be brought in only by a re-awakening of the people.
