The ubiquitous Nandini milk, whose parlours and vending shops dot the city, has taken its first steps into the online world. On the occasion of World Milk Day on Monday, Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF), which sells its products under the brand Nandini, has launched a mobile app “KMF Nandini”, which will allow customers to book milk and other products with the click of a button.
The app has been developed in association with BigBasket.com. It assures customers of delivery within four hours and no booking charges.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who launched the app, said it was through milk production and the KMF that the per capita income of the State can be increased. He said that children studying in classes 1 to 10 and those in anganwadis will be served milk five days a week under the Ksheera Bhagya scheme “soon”, instead of three days a week at present.
