In an announcement guaranteed to please thousands of commuters, BMRCL on Friday said civil work on the Central Silk Board to Bommasandra stretch, which is part of Phase II of Namma Metro, would be completed in three years.
Addressing the Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce, B.L. Yashvanth Chavan, general manager (Operations and Maintenance), BMRCL, said that if approvals were received as per plan, the construction of infrastructure would be completed by 2020.
According to a statement by the BCIC, construction on this stretch would begin once a few last-minute sanctions are approved.

“It is estimated that over three lakh employees travel on this stretch as most of the IT/ITeS, biotechnology, manufacturing, and textile units have offices and facilities on this belt,” the statement said.
