Medical seat scam: PRO of Ambedkar Medical College arrested

Continuing investigation into the medical seat scam, the Central Crime Branch on Saturday arrested A. Amanulla, Public Relation Officer of Dr. Ambedkar Medical College and his associate for allegedly cheating a Mandya-based farmer by promising a medical seat to his daughter.

The police have also booked M.K. Kempa Siddaiah, chairman of the college and his son Shiva Kumar for allegedly duping several medical seat aspirants of crores of rupees.

Investigations so far revealed that the accused A. Amanulla (52), and his associates Abdul Rahman (59), Kepma Siddaiah and Shiva Kumar had taken Rs. 58 lakh from Siddarth, a medical seat aspirant .

The accused were arrested following a complaint filed by Hemaraju, a Mandya-based farmer, who alleaged they had taken Rs. 10 lakh to get a medical seat for his daughter.
