Shuttling between hospital and their house has become routine for four-and-a-half-year-old Mariam Kouser and her family.

Mariam, who had suffered brain damage owing to alleged medical negligence at the Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Trauma and Orthopaedics, Jayanagar, was admitted to Manipal Hospital a week ago. She was discharged on Saturday.

After spending a week at the hospital, her father Mudassir Pasha said that he decided to take her back to her uncle’s house in Hoskote. “Her condition is the same. We admitted her for breathing problems, but her brain still continues to be in the same condition. We decided to shift her back home as she continues to be in a vegetative state,” he said.
