He alleged the officer spent a staggering Rs.1.31 crore for the interior decoration of the shop, resulting in high capital costs for the project.

However, Amrutesh in his complaint, also stated that the outlet suffered a loss of Rs. 1.41 crore in 2012-13.

The complainant has alleged that the official went ahead with the new store to get funds, which he misused.

Sonia Narang, SP, Lokayukta, Bengaluru, said a case has been booked against the official under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
