Describing Lalu Prasad of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Nitish Kumar of the Janata Dal (United) as “destroyers of Bihar”, Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution Ram Vilas Paswan on Friday said the “unholy” alliance cannot become a “formidable force” in the coming elections to Bihar as is being projected.
He told presspersons: “They will fight among themselves and destroy each other in the polls.” When asked about the Congress joining hands with the RJD and the JD(U), he said, “Three parties that have destroyed Bihar in the past 15 years have come together again.”
Clarifying that he was not an aspirant for Bihar Chief Minister’s post, Mr. Paswan said he had refused several offers to head the government earlier. “I am in national politics and continue to be there. Our party will endorse whatever decision is taken by the NDA,” he said.

When asked about BJP leader L.K. Advani’s comment on the Emergency, Mr. Paswan said Mr. Advani had already clarified his stand. “Advani wasn’t hinting at anyhing,” he added.
