KPCC chief’s warning to Ministers seems to be working

March 05, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - BENGALURU:

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president G. Parameshwara’s threat that he will petition the party high command if Ministers do not visit the KPCC office here regularly seems to be working.

Information and Publicity Minister R. Roshan Baig visited the KPCC office on Wednesday and received petitions from Congress workers and activists.

Sugar and Cooperation Minister H.S. Mahadev Prasad and Minister of State for Women and Child Development Umashree are expected to visit the office on Thursday. Energy Minister D.K. Shivakumar had decided to visit the Congress office on Friday, according to party sources.

Dr. Parameshwara had instructed Ministers to frequently visit the party office in Bengaluru as well as in districts to listen to workers’ grievances and maintain unity among local leaders.

Several Ministers have visited offices only once and when asked claimed that “visits to the office will not help anyone”, sources close the KPCC chief said.
