Karnataka elections: Ban orders in Bangalore

On account of counting of votes polled during the elections to the Legislative Assembly scheduled for Wednesday, Police Commissioner Raghavendra H. Auradkar has imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 in the city from 6 a.m. till midnight on Wednesday.

A press release said athat ID proof is mandatory to enter the counting centres and use of cellphones inside the centres has been banned.

Restrictions include ban on the sale of liquor, bursting of crackers, and assembly of five or more people near the counting centres. Processions, protests, announcements, slogan shouting and other noisy activities have been banned .
