More than 20,000 film artistes and workers take to streets to protest dubbing of films

Traffic around the Majestic area was disrupted on Monday morning as hundreds of members of Kannada film fraternity took out a massive rally protesting dubbing of films. According to police, traffic movement was affected in Majestic area, Anand Rao Circle, K R Circle and other places in the Central Business District as more than 20,000 film artistes and workers took to streets. Matters worsened as many bystanders gathered curiously to see if stars were participating in the protest.

Since morning shows in around the theatres of Majestic area have been cancelled people joined the protest to have a glimpse of their favourite star. Additional traffic force has been deputed to manage the traffic. Film stars are planning a bike rally, which is expected to worsen the situation.

Farmers’ protest at the same time also added to the woes, senior traffic police officer said, and added that so far no law and order problem has been reported.
