In response to the notice issued by the Department of Public Instruction, the school in Jalahalli has sought more time to obtain the requisite permission to run pre-primary and higher primary school. However, department sources said the response was “inadequate”.
The school management reportedly said that they had applied for affiliation with the CBSE board for the next academic year.
Block Education Officer North-2 H.M. Raju said the school had not got the permission to run classes this academic year.

“We have decided to shift the schoolchildren to neighbouring schools so that they can continue their education there during the rest of the academic year,” he added. Incidentally, the private school conducted classes on Wednesday not heeding to the department’s notice. Meanwhile, parents of students studying in the school at Jalahalli are likely to move court against the Department of Public Instruction’s decision to close pre-primary and higher primary classes at the school.
Kiran J.N., an office-bearer of the parents’ association, opined that the department’s decision to close classes in the mid-academic year put the children’s future in jeopardy.
The association plans to move the High Court seeking a stay on closing the pre-primary and higher-primary classes till the end of this academic year.
