Jain temple heist: four arrested

Less than 10 days after the Jain temple on Akkipet Main Road was burgled and cash and jewellery worth Rs. 25 lakh was stolen, the city police have arrested four people in connection with the case.

Police sources said that Bashu, Jaibahadur, Sanjay Kumar Verma and Rajesh Sinha, who were former security guards at the Jain temple, were arrested in Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh on Monday. Two lakh rupees in cash and other valuables were recovered from them.

An official said a security guard who was present when the temple was burgled, claimed to have been sedated but medical report revealed no trace of chloroform in his body. Later, he told the police how the burglary was planned.
