Spurred by this week’s Kannada release ‘U Turn’, four youths took it upon themselves to fix the median on Richmond Circle flyover. However, they were aghast a few hours later to see the median broken at two places and motorists taking a ‘U Turn’.
The median is made up of stones, which are routinely displaced by motorists who want to take a U-turn.
On Saturday, the youths, all film buffs in their early twenties, went to the flyover around 3.30 a.m. with spades, cement and sand. They gathered the stones strewn around and restored the median.

They used cement to strengthen the median. The work was completed in five hours.
Mahesh R. (23), an auditor at a private firm, said that immediately after watching ‘U Turn’, they went to Richmond Circle flyover and found the median in disarray. “We thought it’s such a simple job. We sought permission from the traffic cop nearby and fixed it. But what has left us shocked is the lack of civic sense among the city's motorists, who have again broken the median to take a U-turn,” he said. Some motorists tried to break the median even while they were restoring it but desisted after they explained what they were up to.
