The Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is probing the multi-crore investment scam allegedly perpetuated by the I Monetary Advisory (IMA) Group of companies, filed a case against two landlords on Monday accusing them of stealing goods from Frontline Pharma, which is a part of the group.
The theft came to light when an SIT team went to an outlet of the pharmacy at 14th Cross, J.P. Nagar with a search warrant and found the shop empty.
When questioned, landlords Murali, 41, and Muniraju, 34 told the police that employees of the pharmacy had vacated the shop in a hurry one week ago. When investigators cross-checked their claim, they learnt something else.

“We discovered that Murali and Muniraju had taken away a fridge, computers, CCTV, DVR, imported racks, furniture and card swipe machines to their house after the employees fled with the medicines and cash,” said a senior police officer.
According to the police, the duo broke open the locks to take away the belongings despite knowing that Frontline Pharma outlets across the city were under the scanner of the SIT.
“The accused had even removed the signboard of the shop and were planning to lease it out to another entity. The racks and furniture were seized. They are estimated to be worth around ₹50 lakh,” the officer added.

The duo, who were arrested, have been charged with theft, cheating, mischief to cause damage and trespass.
