The hostel dedicated for girl students from North Eastern States at the Jnanabharathi campus will be ready by December. However, students from Bengaluru Central University (BCU) and Bengaluru North University (BNU) may not be allotted rooms in this hostel.

The hostel is spread over 5.5 acres, has 104 rooms and three students can share one room. The project was conceived after students from these States had alleged that they were being discriminated against and had pointed out that safety of the students was a matter of concern.

Undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as research scholars will be accommodated in the hostel. The entire project has been funded by the North Eastern Council.
