Grama Vikasa from October

The State government is set to implement its flagship scheme of Grama Vikasa that focusses on developing infrastructure in 1,000 villages at a cost of Rs. 750 crore.

Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister H.K. Patil told presspersons here on Thursday that the guidelines for the implementation of the project had been finalised, and it would be launched in October. Under the project, five villages would be chosen for development in each of the 189 rural Assembly constituencies in the State. Each village would get an allocation of Rs. 3.75 crore for the infrastructure development.
