Four killed, six injured in four road accidents

A construction worker and an IT professional were among those who died on the spot

Four persons were killed and six were injured in four separate accidents since Saturday.

A construction worker was killed and two of his co-workers were injured when the tractor by which they were travelling overturned on Kembattahalli Main Road in Kumaraswamy Layout on Sunday.

The deceased, Mohammed Bittu (20), and his co-workers were construction labourers at a site in Jambu Savari Dinne, and were living in a shed on the site. They had gone to buy provisions and hopped on to a tractor heading toward the site. En-route, the vehicle overturned due to which Bittu fell off the tractor and came its wheels. The other two workers, Hyder Ali and Ashraf, sustained injuries and were rushed to hospital.

In another accident, an IT professional was killed in a collision between his two-wheeler and a private bus on Hosur Road near Silk Board junction in Madiwala on Saturday. The deceased, Ajeesh, a resident of Thyagarajanagar, was employed in a software company in Marathahalli. At around 10.30 p.m., he was returning home from work and stopped at the junction. When the signal turned green, he moved ahead. A private bus coming from the opposite direction jumped signal and collided with his vehicle. Ajeesh died on the spot.

In the third accident, a pedestrian identified Anjeneya (24) was knocked down by a mini goods vehicle when he was crossing the Chikkabidarakallu Main Road on Saturday night. Anjeneya, a resident of Vinayak Nagar was working as a security guard. Police arrested the vehicle driver and booked him for causing death due to negligence.

Car-bus collision

In another accident on the State Highway between Bangalore and Gowribidanur, one person was killed and four others injured when a car collided with a BMTC bus on Sunday. The deceased, Prabhakar (45), was a pastor and was in the car with his wife, teenaged son and two other friends, all from Bengaluru. While Prabhakar was killed, the remaining four were injured.
