Four killed in two road accidents

Four men were killed in two accidents on the outskirts of the city on Saturday evening.

Two Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) employees riding a bike were killed after a goods vehicle rammed their bike on Mysore Road near Vishwa Okkaligara Samsthana Math. The deceased were identified as Krishnappa (51), a BBMP clerk and a resident of Hanumanth Nagar and Nagaraj (45), an assistant revenue inspector, BBMP, and a resident of Vijaynagar.

The two had been to Ramohalli and were returning to the city when the accident occurred. The vehicle took a turn from a cross road and rammed the bike. The riders sustained severe head injuries and were killed on the spot.

In the incident, two bikers were run over by a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus on the elevated expressway near Sundekoppa on National Highway 4. The dead were identified as Veeranna (28), a resident of Hegganahalli, and Pandurangappa (28), a resident of Bangalore. The two, who worked in private firms in the city, were on their way to Tumkur. Veeranna was riding the bike when the accident occurred.

Nelamangala police have registered a case. The KSRTC bus driver has been arrested.
