A First Information Report has been filed against staff of Hulimavu police station for allegedly assaulting a journalist from the electronic media during the garment workers’ protest.
The FIR has been filed with the Mico Layout police against the inspector and his colleagues.
The victim, Sharan Gurikar, claimed that the police also damaged his camera.

He was later admitted to a private hospital.
He approached the Chief Minister, Home Minister and city police commissioner following which the Chief Minister directed the police to file an FIR and investigate the complaint.
