Ex-councillor charged with threatening BBMP official

May 29, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:32 am IST - Bengaluru:

A former councillor has been charged on Thursday with allegedly abusing and threatening a senior Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike official.

In his complaint with the Amruthahalli police station, BBMP’s Joint Commissioner (Yelahanka zone) Sarfaraz Khan said that the former ruling party leader N.R. Ramesh threatened him with dire consequences if a report on road cutting and Optical Fibre Cables at Yelahanka was not prepared and submitted to him.

The problem started after Mr. Khan said he could give the report only to his higher-ups and not directly to the councillor.
