Eight IPS officers transferred

The State government on Friday transferred eight IPS officers while promoting one of them.

P.H. Rane, who was the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Lokayukta, has been promoted to Inspector-General of Police rank and posted as Director of the Karnataka Police Academy, Mysuru.

Dr. B.A. Mahesh, who was the Superintendent of Police, Lokayukta, and led the recent raid when the BBMP files were found in a private house at Vyalikaval, which was later linked to Muniratna, a ruling party MLA, has been transferred to the Internal Security Division (ISD).

Sonia Narang, who was Commandant, First battalion, Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP), has been transferred as Superintendent of Police, Lokayukta, Bengaluru. She will be replaced by Kuldeep Kumar R. Jain, senior additional Superintendent of Police, Chennapatna. The government has cancelled an earlier order posting Hemanth Nimbalkar, as DIG, Fire and Emergency Services. H S Revanna has been asked to take up that post. Mr. Nimbalkar has been posted as DIG, Economic Offences Wing, Criminal Investigation Department.

He replaces D. Roopa, who has been posted as Joint Commissioner of Police (City Armed Reserve), Bengaluru.
