The document verification process for rank holders of the Common Entrance Test (CET) got off to a start on Monday, with the first day catering to persons with disabilities and National Cadet Corps (NCC) quotas at the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) office here.
Students and parents were seen waiting from 9.30 a.m. for the procedure that was scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., hoping it would be first-come-first-served.
This especially proved to be a challenge to those candidates under the disabilities quota.

“Students under the quota whose ranks were within 50,000 were asked to be seated. But it has been over an hour and there have been no further announcements as to what we should do next. This is extremely tough for us,” said a candidate’s mother.
Apart from the anxiety over documents, some parents were seen worrying about whether all the documents would be verified on the same day or if they would be asked to come again.

Document verification for students belonging to the sports category will be held on Tuesday and for the general merit from June 5.
According to a KEA release, 413 candidates appeared for NCC document verification and 394 candidates found eligible.
Some 186 candidates appeared for the Medical Examination Committee and 125 were found eligible under the disabilities quota.
