The Central Crime Branch raided a house in Koramangala third block on Sunday and arrested a 25-year-old man who was allegedly running an online cricket betting racket for the final match of the IPL between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings.
Based on a tip-off, a team raided the house and arrested Chand Pasha, a resident of Tannery Road. The police recovered ₹70.3 lakh cash and two mobile phones from him.
According to the police, Pasha was collecting the betting amount from punters and using a mobile app for running the racket. He told the police that he was collecting the money from bookies at the behest of Syed Ilyas, who is on the run.

Investigations revealed that Pasha would take bets through mobile apps on anything from the toss to the number of boundaries and sixes till the last ball of the game, said the police.
Pasha would send all the betting money to Ilyas online and get ₹1.5 lakh commission for every match, CCB officials said, adding that bookies from Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and West Bengal were involved.
