A police constable, Nagamangala MLA Suresh Gowda's gunman, accidentally shot himself when his service pistol misfired while he was cleaning it at the MLA's residence at 515 Colony near Thippasandra here on Monday. Raveendra Kumar (26), attached to the District Armed Reserve (Mandya), sustained a bullet injury on his forearm and was rushed to a private hospital in Indiranagar, where he underwent surgery.
