Students from the State secured seven of the top 10 spots in the Undergraduate Entrance Test (UGET) for engineering admissions. The results were announced by the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) on Friday. The test, which went online this year, was held on May 8 in 153 cities across the country.
A COMEDK release said 55,680 students wrote the test. Students will be able to access their ranks Saturday noon onwards by using their ‘Applicant login’ ID. The counselling schedule will be announced soon. Adhokshaja V. Madhwaraj from Sri Chaitanya Techno School, Ramamurthy Nagar secured the first rank scoring 170 out of a maximum of 180. He had scored 98 per cent in the science stream in the Class 12 CBSE exams.

Students from Karnataka also bagged 56 spots in the top 100. As many as 417 out of top 1,000 are from Karnataka.
As many as 30 per cent of the total seats available in COMEDK member institutions will be available to those who qualified in the test. The fee will range from Rs. 1.21 lakh to Rs. 1.7 lakh for those who opt for a seat during counselling.
