Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa has ordered a probe into three alleged instances of irregularities in the Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA) and Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) on Friday. This comes close on the heels of the CM, who also holds charge of the city, ordering probes into several civic projects. With this, the total number of probes ordered so far stands at 12.
The allotment of alternate sites by the BDA between 2014-15 and 2017-18, when the Congress was in power, has come under the scanner. A probe has been ordered into a specific instance of allotment of 245 alternate sites worth ₹600 crore to the family of former councillor A.M. Hanumanthe Gowda violating BDA (Allotment of Sites) Rules, 1984 as well. The Chief Minister wants an investigation into alleged irregularities in cutting up large civic amenity sites and allotting them as alternate sites.

He has also sought a report on the deviation from the DPR and approved alignment plan for the widening of Bannerghatta Road (JD Mara junction to Koli Farm Junction 7.44 km) and Sarjapura Road (Iblur Junction to Chikka Kannahalli Junction 4.74 km).
The chief minister's order also said that the BBMP has not built a service road, contrary to norms.
However, the civic agency is yet to begin work on these projects.

The Chief Minister has set a deadline of two months for the Urban Development Department to submit a report on these alleged irregularities.
