City to host 3-day national conference on gynaecology

Bengaluru: Vikram Hospital in association with Indian Association of Gynaecological Endoscopists (IAGE) and Bangalore Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (BSOG) will conduct a three-day national conference, IAGE 2017 from May 5 to 7 at Hotel Le Meridien, Bengaluru.

Addressing presspersons here on Thursday, Dr. Venkatesh N, former president of BSOG and HoD of OBG, Vikram Hospital, said that the three-day conference will demonstrate various live surgeries such as laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, urogynec and surgical techniques.

Themed ‘Techniques to Technology in Endoscopy,’ the conference will see a team of doctors from Vikram Hospital led by Dr. Venkatesh and Vidya V. Bhat, president of Karnataka State Obstetrics and Gynaecology Association and governing council member of IAGE, perform the live surgeries.

The conference aims to bring the latest technical advances and innovations that can help address cost issues related to procedures of endoscopy and make it safer, said Dr. Bhat.

About 350 surgeons and doctors from across the globe will attend the live telecast of the demonstration. Other sessions include panel discussions on lap hysterectomy, advances in IVF and infertility and some video sessions.
